Information on UIGEA ( Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act)

The US parliament has passed UIGEA and according to experts the new law reinforces what was illegal. The new law does nothing to extend the 1961 Wire Act that forbid gambling on sports through phone. There is an ambiguity in the gambling industry and even professional analysts are not understanding about the future of internet gaming. Presently several states laws have banned the online gambling and the new law strengthens those state laws. Majority of the international community is moving towards regulating internet gambling. Therefore, it is responsibility of the individual to know and follow the laws of your land wherever you reside.
